CODE Forum: The participation of Alexandros Maris, Deputy CEO of TenTec, in the panel on urban development and adaptive reuse
March 2, 2026
Alexandros Maris, Deputy CEO of TenTec, took part in the panel discussion on urban development and adaptive reuse. The conversation focused on the role of repurposing existing buildings in driving sustainable urban revitalization, as well as the conditions required to accelerate such projects in Greece.
During his remarks, Mr. Maris highlighted the importance of adaptive reuse as a modern and responsible development approach, noting: “Greece is not lacking in capabilities; it is lacking in processes.”
This statement captured the essence of the discussion: while the country has a significant building stock and strong potential for urban regeneration projects, faster implementation requires targeted institutional improvements.
Key points and proposals raised during the panel that can strengthen urban development and facilitate the reuse of existing buildings:
- Acceleration of permitting procedures and full digitalization of processes, reducing delays and increasing predictability.
- Tax and financing incentives for adaptive reuse projects, acting as a catalyst for attracting investment.
- A stable urban planning framework, enabling long-term planning and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
For TenTec and the Ten Brinke Group, adaptive reuse is a core development strategy. It is an approach that combines technical excellence, environmental responsibility, and respect for the identity of each city. Adaptive reuse is not simply a trend—it is a meaningful contribution to sustainable urban development, creating contemporary spaces that meet the needs of a new era without compromising the character of the urban fabric.
The 2nd BUILDING SHOW, organized by “KTIRIO” publications and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport at the Athens Concert Hall, was successfully completed. The event brought together more than 600 participants, while over 1,300 viewers attended online, reaffirming its position as a key reference point for the technical works sector.
During the conference, the CEO of TenTec, Mr. Nikos Nikolopoulos, presented the company’s strategic approach as a key partner of the Ten Brinke Group, focusing on quality in construction projects and in the modern construction site.
Mr. Nikolopoulos emphasized that quality in construction is not an isolated phase but a holistic process that begins at the design stage. Human-centered architecture, high aesthetics, functionality, sustainable methods, and the careful selection of materials form the foundation of a high quality technical project.
He also stressed that quality on-site is directly linked to worker safety and respect, minimizing disruption to surrounding communities, and a strong commitment to environmental protection and the preservation of cultural heritage whenever archaeological findings emerge.
A flagship example presented was the redevelopment project at Piraeus & Kifissou Avenues, where TenTec and the Ten Brinke Group transformed a landfill of 130,000 cubic meters of waste into a contemporary, green retail park. Waste removal exceeded €1.5 million, highlighting the Group’s dedication to projects with a positive environmental footprint.
Equally important was the reference to the company’s project on Alexandras Avenue, a LEED Gold certified office building that stands as a model of modern sustainable architecture and construction.
In closing, Mr. Nikolopoulos underlined that quality is not accidental, but a matter of choice, investment, and strategic responsibility. TenTec continues to set high standards in every project, actively seeking expertise, innovation, and practices that deliver real value to society and the built environment.
Building & Construction Summit @ Costa Navarino 2024
October 1, 2024
Over 40 key decision makers from the Construction and Real Estate sectors — among them senior architects, construction and development directors, as well as project, contract, and procurement managers — met with 35 top suppliers of building materials, construction systems, and equipment during the Building & Construction Summit at Costa Navarino.
This Summit is a high level, invitation only networking event designed for professionals across the construction and building ecosystem. Participants engage in targeted one to one business meetings, attend curated keynote sessions, and exchange insights and expertise, fostering both new partnerships and long term industry relationships.
During the event, TenTec and TenTec Residences CEO, Nikos Nikolopoulos, invited by the Boussias Group, met with representatives from leading companies to explore modern and innovative construction solutions. On stage, Ten Brinke Group’s VP/CEO for Greece, Fotis Gioftsios, joined architect and founder of Bobotis + Bobotis Architects, Mr. Bobotis, in a discussion that focused on technology’s impact on construction, the architect–developer relationship, environmental considerations, and cost forecasting throughout all phases of project design.
TenTec remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence, continuously pursuing fresh ideas, effective proposals, pioneering methods, and sophisticated design solutions that enhance the value of every project.
Greece’s construction industry is entering a new phase of growth following a demanding stretch of years, according to TenTec S.A.’s CEO, Nikos Nikolopoulos, who spoke at the 2nd Real Estate Conference hosted by Capital.gr and Forbes Greece.
Nikolopoulos noted that demand for construction projects is rising sharply across all segments of the sector—from building and energy developments to major infrastructure works. At the same time, the country’s broader economic momentum is opening up fresh investment opportunities that could further boost the industry.
Commenting on construction costs, he explained that prices have climbed in recent years largely because of external pressures, and although they appear to be stabilizing, they remain at elevated levels. He added that ongoing increases in wages, the cost of living, and labor shortages continue to push expenses upward.
He concluded by expressing optimism about the sector’s prospects, stressing that sustained growth will depend on responsible action and strong collaboration between the private and public sectors to make the most of the favorable economic conditions.
FORBES interview
October 9, 2025
In the October issue of Forbes, Mr. Fotis Gioftsios, CEO and Vice President of the Ten Brinke Group in Greece, and Mr. Nikos Nikolopoulos, CEO of TenTec, shared their insights.
Among other topics, they discussed the Greek market and emphasized the Group’s human-centered approach to building design. They also compared the real estate markets of Athens’ southern and northern suburbs. Their conclusion: in the South, sales—after a period dominated by foreign investors—appear to have stabilized. The North, on the other hand, maintains consistently high demand, driven by quality of life and robust infrastructure, which are less prone to sharp fluctuations than in the South. The resilience of the local market during economic crises further strengthens the preference for residential properties in these areas.

The aspiring engineers, along with their professors, were guided through the site by Stefanos Tsakalos, Head of the construction site, Giorgos Mavridis, Project Manager, and Tonya Katsiaganni, Group Communications Director.
The trio provided insightful information regarding the Group’s pan-European development, the construction techniques employed, and their expertise, all while addressing the eager inquiries from both students and professors.
A heartfelt thank you to all our partners and the TenTec team for their contributions to the successful execution of this project. We hope that the warmth and professionalism shown to the young students will inspire them to become dynamic, safety-focused, and engaged engineers of the future.
